Theresa Manning brings decades of professional experience, a willingness to learn, and an appreciation for the people around her. In July 2019, she joined Perspective Cabinetry & Design, and we’re glad she did. As Office Manager, she works closely with our designers and clients, assisting with everything from cabinet orders and deliveries to marketing.

What is your educational and professional background?
“I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Webster University. For 34 years, I worked as an Operations Manager in national sales at AT&T Yellow Pages.
“My sister-in-law, Patti Martineau, the Owner of Perspective Cabinetry & Design, reached out to me after I was let go from my previous job. She offered me a part-time role as her support assistant. I took the opportunity, and the rest is history.”
What does your role involve on a day-to-day basis?
“My daily responsibilities include managing client deliveries, assisting designers with cabinet orders, helping to manage marketing functions, and handling miscellaneous tasks around the showroom.
“What I enjoy most is working with the people at Perspective and learning about the kitchen and bath design industry. When I first started, I knew very little about the industry, but I’ve learned so much over the years.”
Do you have any children or pets?
“I have a Golden Retriever named Rocket who goes everywhere with my husband and me. He was once the showroom dog at Perspective, where he greeted customers and made everyone smile. He still occasionally visits the showroom and, of course, gets plenty of attention.”
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
“I enjoy spending weekends with my husband and dog at our lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks. We love to fish, take the boat out, and work on projects around the house; we are always busy. I think we could have our own TV reality show based on all the projects we’ve worked on.”
Which project has been your favorite to work on?
“My favorite project, which I did with my husband, was tearing down and rebuilding our lake house. We installed cabinets and learned every aspect of building a house. It’s safe to say that my resume has expanded ever since.”
If you could design your dream room, what would it be and why?
“My dream room would be a kitchen with a large island that overlooks the lake. I love cooking and entertaining. It would be the perfect space to bring people together.”
What’s one item in your home you couldn’t live without?
“I couldn’t live without my iPad. I use it all the time to look up everything on the internet. It is glued to my side. “
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
“I love to play sports, and I am a pretty competitive person. Golf is one of my favorites, and over the years, I’ve also played softball, indoor soccer, racquetball, tennis, and even kickboxing, which literally kicked my butt. Some of my other hobbies include fishing, gardening, and selling items on eBay and Facebook Marketplace.”
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“The best advice I received was to contribute to my 401k immediately upon starting. I’m looking to retire soon and am thankful I listened to my former co-worker’s advice.”
